Jeff Ive had plenty of 66s that were untouched and the last picture posted above is correct for a non a/c car.
I reproduce all the fuel lines(and have for over 30 yrs) . A friend who was a Delco engineer of that era told me GM would never use over 12 inches of rubber in the engine bay due to risk of fire, but when I showed him this set up,he reneged . FYI the 66 a/c was same as early 67 which has a support bracket around the filter. The OEM filter was superseded many years ago with a smaller diameter version which I was forced to use. I simply wrapped the bracket in split fuel line to take up the slack. I have since acquired some NOS filters that are correct.Olds was the most common application for those.

Jeff,
The new owner of my Old 66 send me this pic of the Fuel Filter Housing, I can't say for sure that it is factory as Ionly bought the car in 97, but everything else was stock on the car, and I was the 3rd owner. And it still had an A/C Delco Filter on it. And it is an Aircondition Automatic Car.

Jeff Thanks for the pic this is why I never say never about items with our old Pontiacs.
I have seen some head scratching sh!t over the years but I am amazed that they thought this was a good layout. ![]() I have to say I have never seen this set up. However after looking closer at the '66 SM Pg 8-3. Fig 8-5. Shows the tank sender with a Fuel & return/vent line but states 8 CYL. ONLY. The same pic in the 67 SM pg 8-5 fig 8-8 states 8CYL. & SPRINT Did the '67s (Sprint) use 2 metal lines/pipes front to back? Again I have never taken notice of this and am amazed I have never seen it before now. I also looked again and found a pic of the soild fuel line, it was on a CA smog car however the pic is very small. Maybe Im just reading to much into this but do find this stuff interesting.

I still have the lines off an early 67 a/c Sprint I parted. I also have lines from a 66 a/c Sprint I parted as well. I may have some of the fuel filter lines made up already. Later units had the relief in the fuel pump,so all the carb lines including the hard line from pump are different.

I`ll never know why, after all that detailing, that they go ahead and paint the engine the wrong colour. Beautiful car, otherwise. Interesting to see if it meets the reserve and what it goes for.

IMO; With a little detailing it could be a real nice car.
But not at $15+

Even after I pointed out that the engine is a 1 bbl, which is not a Sprint, hes convinced there were 1 bbl "Sprints" made. not to mention that it looks like it was stored in the bottom of a lake, and is priced at 10x over true value. " Hi i been doing some research on the net and found out there were sprints with 1 barrel carb like this one, the car has all the badges and the last owner assured this is a thruly sprint, yesterday i found a lot of info about this rare firebird. If you need more info just let me know. Thanks Anuar"

Too funny I just did the same and added if it is a TRUE SPRINT from the factory it's a shame to see it diced up for a Chebby engine
