Default New to the Forum

Hi, I thought I'd introduce myself. My name is John and I live in New Jersey. I stumbled across this site a few weeks ago. I have 68 Firebird convertible, a 93 Formula Firehawk, and an 09 G8 GT. The 68 came to me as someone's failed project. In the near future I plan to dust off my skills and begin rebuilding it. There seems to be a good bit of info to be gleaned here. I look foward to joining the community!

John, welcome to the forum.

How about some pictures when you have a chance?

Welcome to PY John. The last Firebird, and the last car I delivered out of the GM plant in St. Therese, PQ was a red 93 Formula Firehawk. And it was the only car I had for my load. Tho I can't remember the Pontiac dealer's name, it was delivered to Somerville, NJ in November of 93.

Sure, here are a few.
The day I bought the Firehawk!

The new S60

The day I bought the G8

Sadly, this is the only picture of the convertible I have. You can see it covered in stuff in the front of the garage!

I tried to post pictures last night and I got a message that my post needed to be approved by a moderator. Why is that and how long does that take?

Hi John
Welcome to PY

We have the Forums setup to flag new members' posts for approval in order to prevent spam from getting on the Forums. That feature stops being a problem once you have a few posts in your post count.

FYI, we also have the forums setup so that posts in the tech sections are the only ones that advance your post count. The PY Forums is really about the Tech sections and we thought the post counts should reflect member's participation there.

John,

Nice collection you have going and it looks like you have a large well equipped workspace.

Are you near Avenel or Edison? I have some relatives there.

Dave

Welcome to the forums. There are some mighty nice folks here. Let's see some more pics of the 68 project. It looks good from what I can see.

Thanks, dm! I searched through the FAQ and couldn't find the answer so I thought I'd ask. I'm on several forums and never came across it set up this way.

Welcome.

A friend had an identical 1993 Firehawk back in the day. He bought it new and had it about a year. I drove it a few times. It was a sweet car to drive. Especially compared to my 1983 TA Pace Car.

Welcome John, enjoy the boards.

We had a problem with spammers posting obscene pics on the forum awhile back, so we put in the delay on brand-new members.
