show me a specific part # for 69 4 bbl only con rod
it just didnt happen

No doubt about it, the '69 rod was a thing of beauty.
They were serious about strenght but the OHC to the best of my knowlege did not have rod problems. |

Without knowing any better, it looks as if the Chevy rod pictured in reply #8 has been heavily machined & resized on the crank end.

if they made it theres a part# for it
even engineering parts have a #. from the parts book 68-9 T6,F6 9793328 if the 4 bbl had a different rod it would be a different part# and from the service manuals for 67,68,69 type 1037 or 1038 steel 20.5 oz perhaps your confusion is the rod bearings for 4 bbl were Morraine 400 and 1 bbl were Morraine 100( lighter duty)
