I want to Run my rebuilt 61 389 on a test Stand
Dear Members,
I will be ready to fire up my rebuilt 61 Bonneville Engine within the next two weeks. I would like to run it on a test stand however, as you are aware the starter mounts onto the transmission and the flywheel/flex plate is part of the fluid/torous coupler for the hydramatic. Does anyone know if their is anything available to adapt to my engine that gives me the ability to fire up the engine on a test stand. I thought about bolting up the transmission however, I did not want to go through the hassel of filling it with fluid and hooking up cooling lines. Sincerely gmil60 |

Maybe you could borrow a stick bellhousing or an adaptor plate from someone who lives nearby?
Not sure what other options you may have other than bolting the automatic or building an adaptor plate.
