Sad to see these birds that recently arrived. Found them sitting in the junkyard probably waiting to get parted out. Talked to the owner who said he is going to try and sell them "as is" before parting them out. There were 7 total 3 69's including 1 convert, and if I recall 2 68's and 2 67's. 1 of the 67's is a 400 4 barrel YT code on the block. The other 67 was a HO car. They all looked fairly complete except for a few missing hoods and in rough shape. The 69 convert is missing the enging and front clip. Just thought someone might finf them interesting.

Grab the cocktail shakers out of the '69 vert if it still has them.

That 67 trim tag denotes a 67 Tyrol Blue Firebird 400, Turbo 400 with buckets and console. A shame it ended up there. If it still has the numbers matching 400, it's probably worth trying to save.

Anyone interested in these cars should contact Shawn at French Lake Auto Parts in Annandale, MN.
http://www.frenchlakeautoparts.com/ 320-274-8497 These Birds are in Shawn's private lot and not in the regular yard - yet. |

If Shawn has them, he'll keep them. Too tired of trying to deal with him (doesn't like my last name, for some reason).

It was Shawn at French Lake I talked to. He never said how much he wanted for each car. The 67 400 looked like it still had its original motor but hard to tell without more digging. Be nice if someone could save a few of them. I would like to but dont need another project.

I could be interested in that blue '67 if it wasn't completely shot and the price was reasonable. I'm not good with data plates. What color would the interior be? Is that the car in the 3rd picture? If so, it looks really rough.
Thanks, Troy

The Tyrol car is blue interior also I think. Paul was out there last week when he heard about the cars and took some pics. I think the 67 is matching # with correct carb also. Hoods are gone so I think they are 400 cars. I don't know where Shawn got them. If they came from out of state, they might be buildable although the lower quarter on the 69 looks pretty rough.
HFR- I've had no problems dealing with Shawn in the past. I do know he won't give stuff away for nothing though. |

The first three picts I originally posted are all of the 67 blue 400 and the interior is blue. It is in rough shape. I was surprised someone hadn't already pilfered more parts off of it. Except for the hood and a few emblems it looked like most of the car was there.
Don't quote me on it but if I recall Shawn said he found them in the Cambridge area or somewhere up there. Here are a couple more picts. Wish I would have a taken more that day.

UPDATE:
I was out at French Lake last Thursday with a couple buddies. We bought the green 69 Bird (2nd pic from 67birdht) and a 69 GTO. All the Birds are rough, really rough. The Tyrol 67 car looked like a killer car in the day and maybe could be restored with alot of work. I mean a ton of welding. Orig engine is there otherwise it's a parts car. The 69 vert looks rough too, somebody put door skins and quarters on it before. Decklid is good, cocktail shakers intact and look nice. The 68 is a 326HO car with fold down rear seat. Asking prices are all around $1950 each. The green 69 my buddy bought is VooDoo Green, black cordova top, Gold interior, 400, auto, tilt, rally gauges, console, disc brakes, ps, posi and some other options. How can you tell if it was a Ram Air car? Hood is awol and there are no ram air cables that we could see. On our trip through the yard we spotted this 72 Firebird with a decent front clip. Valence is already off and looks usable but I forgot to grab it. |

That '72 has been there at least a couple of years now. It used to be behind the fenced area. No takers as a whole I guess. Maybe the the fgf's will find their way to the yard soon. Their three other fgf's were picked clean a couple of years ago.

Did they have the titles for the cars?

The two we bought did not have titles so I assume the others won't either. I have bought other cars from Shawn in the past and some of them did have titles.

John, Glad to see one of them get purchased. You guys plan on restoring it eventually or using it for parts? I am waiting to see if they hit the yard myself, as 68tpls400 pointed out the other first gens in the yard are picked clean. Hoping to grab a few peices off of one of these.
