FWIW we ship products nationally. When we ship to Canada our customers get killed. shipping is twice as much. All the taxes and brokerage and duties are for the Canadian side. We could add a a lot of Canadian orders if it wasn't for the border fees. I agree it sucks tho.

Living in the Edmonton area as well I have learned to avoid UPS for shipping from the US.
If I can't get an item shipped by USPS I now go else where. The few times I have had to use UPS I never had the shipping costs added you have.

Yep, having worked in a few mail order-based industries for many years, the shipping to Canada addresses from US is a tough proposition all the way around. Many companies use UPS due to the traceability and generally faster customs process, but pay the Canada-based premiums as well as broker fees, which understandibly gets customers upset. Sending packages parcel through USPS, while less expensive, many times ends up getting delayed in customs, and/or misplaced, lost, damaged, etc., which also gets customers upset.
