My 68 needs a new timing chain cover and water pump. I have been shopping around and all I can find are 69 repo conversion kits. Are there any pros or cons to this? I also have an ebay second chance offer from a PY member for a NOS 69 timing chain cover.
Any info would be appreciated. |

depends on your desire for a factory stock 68 setup. If that is what you wish, then you have one housing and one pump. These are 8 bolt units with different internal divider plates. If 69 and up, then 11 bolt units and two different water pump lengths. 69 and up offer cooling design improvements, but 68 versions work just fine.
What do you desire?

I have a really nice 68 timing cover listed on PY forums. This is a one year only timing cover which takes the 8 bolt water pump and the newer balancer that takes 4 bolts for the pulleys.
