#5 Duct bracket
Does anyone have or know where to get the bracket along with the correct clip that secures the #5 duct to the #4/#6 ducts? I believe about 20 years ago when the heater core was getting worked on, the bracket got removed and never put back on.
I am having trouble uploading a picture, I'll keep trying.

Picture of bracket
It is somewhat hard to see, still having issues uploading a good picture. But in this one it is towards the top left of picture when not rotated.

The bracket I described in my previous post is labeled #9 in your schematic. I believe that is the only bracket used in the duct work on a 70-73F body..

Yes, #9 is the one I am looking for. I didn't know the width of the bracket, so that is what I'll do. 3/16"seems awfully thick though.

yes..3/16" is probably too thick.. but is thinner than 1/8"...18 guage or so is most likely your size.. Someone with more time than I can measure for you..anyway, it is an easy bracket to fabricate, plus it is mounted in a position where no one will see it.. If i have time tomorrow I will measure one I have..

OK.. Here are pictures of the bracket you are looking for. Below are the spec's
width .75" thickness .035" 3/64" inch overall length 4.30" length to 90 degree bend .80" length to 45 degree curve from 90 degree bend 2.50" Hole in 90 degree bend 1/4" round hole in 45 degree bend two 1/4" holes opened up touching eachother to make an oval for adjustability.. Hope this helps you.. Should be easy fabricating this bracket.. |
