Default distributor

does it make a difference on a 70 judge automatic whether it is a automatic or manual distributor

As per the books auto is a 2009 4 speed 2010 That being said my 70 Judge Cali built came with a 2010 and has a auto.

NO, other than the part number and the vacume pod for advance maybe

The assembly plants took some libertys with what distributors they factory installed in quite a few '69-70 era Pontiacs. That is esp the case on Nov '68-April of '69 dated WT's, YZ's & WS's. In some cases, one has to see with one's own eyes on close dated same plant verified original vehicles what was actually used. Going by original buildsheet & master parts books does not always tell the true story.
