I have done several searches, must not be using the correct wording. I am trying to find information on how to see what the trim tag will reveal.
This past Monday I helped a friend pick up a 72' Lemans. The car is very original, shows just over 63K on the odometer. Was last registered in 1989, the title was issued on 02/12/1987 and the odometer reading on the title is 58,524. So 63K and some change doesn't sound unreasonable. It has factory AC, PS, PDB. White on white, appears to have had a vinyl top at one time. Has 14X6 Rally IIs, but may not have come with them. 350 2bbl, column shifted TH350. The trim tag reads as follows: ST 72-23537 A BDY TR 252A5218 411 H PNT 12A 110145 750154 Thanks in advance! |

Welcome to PY!
The 2 door LeMans hardtop was built at Lakewood (Atlanta GA plant). Body was built 12A (1st week of Dec '71). the paint code, 11 is cameo white , H is a pewter colored vinyl top Trim code 252A is ivory vinyl bench seat. Original 14x6 rally II wheels for '72 LeMans will code KT next to the valvestem. If was ordered with the cheap optional handling pkg and D98 rally II wheels, the wheels will be 14x7 KS's & there will be a 7/8" rear swaybar under the car.

Thanks for the reply. It has no rear sway bar or boxed lower arms. I'll check the wheels tomorrow when there is more light.
I do not expect to find any build sheets. The gas tank and straps have been removed, and are long gone. The same with the carpets & headliner, they are also MIA. The front door panels are still there, and I have heard of a build sheet sometimes being stashed behind them. The plan is to build a Lemans GT tribute to race in the pure stock muscle car drags. It's going to be a 400 4bbl, muncie 4 speed, and either 3.90 or 4.10 gears. I had never even heard of a Lemans GT until doing some research here. I had only heard of the GT 37s. It should make a very neat and unique car that will draw a crowd wherever it goes.

Have pulled quite a few '72 Lakewood buildsheets from behind the drivers doorpanel.

I just looked at the wheels, all four of them have a distinct "KT" stamped on them next to the valve stem. So they might be original to the car.
Are they worth anything? Ideally, we'd like to get a set of 15X7 Rally II's for the car. Not worried about what code they are, etc. My friend Chris who owns the car registered yesterday, he goes by 722LemansGT. Here's a link to the thread he posted with a few pictures: http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=694952 Hopefully he uploads a few more, it's torn down quite a bit more since he took the original pictures Monday afternoon.

Off the top of my head, air conditioning is C60.
Body side molding might be B84 (it was used in later years as a base body side molding) Carpet might be B30, with B32 front mats and B33 rear mats. Tint glass is A01 (all windows) or A02 (windshield only) U80 is rear seat speaker. U69 is AM/FM; U58 is AM/FM stereo Drip molding is B80 Not sure on the belts. Sorry for skipping around a bit; most of these codes we still use today. K
