Default Did any 69's get a Strato Bench?

Was 68 the last year for Strato Bench seats in Pontiacs or were they used in 69?

I thought the Strato Bench was not used at all in 69 but I just stumbled onto a 69 Toronado with a Strato Bench so I thought I would ask about Pontiac.

I looked at the 1969 accessories brochure posted here: http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/stati.../dirindex.html and didn't find anything about a strato-bench, only regular bench and buckets.

Thanks for the replies. I was curious about full size cars having the Strato Bench and completely forgot about F-bodies.

FYI while searching I did find the Buick still offered the Strato Bench in full size cars in 69.

I have a 69 Bonneville convertible that needs a new front seat so I think I am going to have a Strato Bench upholstered to match.

The Oldsmobile toronado you mentioned, and the Cadillac eldorados. These have What looks like bucket seats with the fold down arm rest in the middle.
Those are the only cars I have seen them in. Of course quite a few firebirds and very few camaros had a strato bench seat option, but were not like the full size seats as theirs looked like the bucket seats in camaro/firebird.

You can find a lot of toros around and many had these seats.

I have one but you are too far away to ship. I am sure you can find one if you start looking around your area. I know several people who are parting out toros on line.

Fullsize and midsize Pontiacs no longer used the strato bench in 69. 68 was the last year. to confirm other comments I had a 70 Eldo that had one.

In case anyone is wondering what the hell a strato-bench is; it's a lower half of a bench seat with the uppers from the bucket seat model of the same era (known as strato-buckets) with a folding armrest (that became a seat-back when raised) in between.

Kind of a neat idea because you had the practicality of a bench but with the armrest down you had a bit of that sporty bucket look.

And like the buckets I guess they were also used in experimental military jets that flew into the stratosphere.

I picked up the Strato Bench out of the 69 Toro I mentioned in my first post. As a bonus it is a working 6 way power piece.

I described by North above I like the utility of a bench seat withthe sporty look of buckets. I currently have a bench in my 69 Bonnie and it is shot so replacing it with the Strato Bench is a wash.

Thanks for all your comments.

I parted a '69 427 Grande Parisienne with the Strato.
