I have a set of front disc brake assemblies. Complete from spindle to dust cover. All bearings seals and gaskets are there however it would be wise to put in new ones and the rotor are in good shape and thick however the should be turned or replaced. According to my pontiac 73 shop manual they are B & F body which would mean big pontiacs such as bonniville, Catalina, Star Chief. I think that they might fit Firebirds and Cameros also. I wanted to use them however they wont fit my lemans would be willing to trade for A body front disc brakes.

B body spindles pre 1970 are B body specific to that line.

68-72 A body interchange.


Year is important in this application wise. Do you know what yr they are?

Not sure how much this helps, but, GM did a very aggressive common-ization program in that era -- Delorean bitches to high heaven about it in "Clear Day."

This included the '70 1/2-81 F-Body, which got '71-76 B-Body spindles and brakes. Hell for stout, but very heavy and expensive for what started out as a "compact" car. Even the last gen RWD Nova/Seville used these parts.

GM fans can thank the 14th floor for this... where the Ford and Mopar iron of the era disintegrated rather rapidly, the tank-like GM cars just kept chugging (as long as they didn't have the Diesel... but that's another story.)

Short track guys used the longer Seville upper and lower control arms to get a little better geometry (or so it was claimed) in categories that required stock production parts.

11 in rotors.

according to my pontiac 73 service manual page 5B-13, figure 5B-17 states they are steering Knuckle Hub and Disc Assembly(s) B and F series

those pontiac's should include F-series Firebird, Esprit, Formula, Trans-Am
B-series Catalina, Bonneville, Grand Ville

Well, not the rotors. B body are 5x5 and f are 5x4.75.

I am walking out to compare the two I have right now. I am very doubtful. But we will see.

Ok . . . I just looked at

1. The f-body 67-69 camaro (same as A-body 68-72) and X-body 68-74

2. The F-body 70-81 Camaro (some dif. in parts due to metric changes later in run)

3. The B-body pontiac Bonneville (a 1970 representing 65-70 b-bodies)

THE SPINDLES ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE to being the same or the same part #!!!

As mentioned my others on here these parts are years specific.


These will not work on 70 or earlier b bodies.

71 and up? B bodies have 12 inch rotors as mentioned allready.

When you look in the service manual the procedures are the same but the parts are not necessarily the same. Can't go by the service manual for part interchangeability.
