HALFWAY, that is a beautiful 64. Is that an original color? I like it better than the "not correct" blue that's on my 65. I also love the wheels. Are they the torque thrust D's? I'm hoping when I get to the mock up point for my wheels, they will have the correct back spacing so I can get a set on the 65. I know they're pricey....like around $200 each!

rontiac - the original was yorktown blue - but I liked the darker blue I picked from a GM book, mid 80's color but it just had a number. I could not tell you the what the wheels are either but they are older and I got them off Ebay for under 300.0 for all of them. I think they are magnesium becuase they are very light weight.

Here is a 65Le Mans I am in the process of buying now. I am either going to put the "spare" 406 in it with a Offy/Holley dual quad setup or I'm going to build the E headed 428 for this.

Default sharp

Seeing your 64 makes me think of a local guy here who has 64 lemans convertable. The car has had some modest changes, but i believe the engine is original. Bout flipped when i first seen it and was talking to him about it and he was trying to sell it to me. Seen him drive it to a local car event the other nite.

Default My new 65 LeMans Drag Car Project

I bought this car last week and picked it up today. A couple of other people owned it and were making it a drag car and for whatever reason moved on to other projects. I will get it together as I am freshening up my old 406 motor for it and I have a street/strip TH350 as well.

Hi all, This is my first post and you all sure have all the knowledge I need for my restoration job. 1964 Tempest Custom nearly complete. purchased from the original owner garage kept and dealer under coated so no rust anywhere. Came with 326 HO 4barrel 2 speed trans and lots of options. I even have the original Georgia 1964 title and envelope it was mailed in.
1w,2A,2K,2P,4G,5W, trim 208, paint W-W I am installing a 1966 389 tri power with a ram air IV cam #92 heads eagle H beam rods, 700R4 trans, 2200stall, 410 posi gears carrier.
Took the body down to bare metal and painted Nightwatch Blue. Orig was Nocturn. Here are some pics.
