Default 1967 Firebird/Camaro Fender interchangable

I have read quite alot recently about how the GM Engineers were told to use as many parts from the 1967 Camaro as possible, when the production was given the go ahead on the 1967 Firebird. I have also read yeah and nay in several other articles. So......would / will the fenders, and fenders alone be interchangeable ? And if so, will they bolt properly to the Pontac lower extensions and valance panel.

Camaro fenders have a notch where the bumper bracket comes in. It will bolt correctly to the extension and valance, but you'll have to "fill" that notch somehow. I personally know someone who did it back in 1998.

As stated above they are identicle except for the notch in the lower part where the fender extension bolts to. This is for the front bumper bracket to slide through.

Also the 1967 pontiac extension is the same as the Camaro. and your lower valance will bolt up fine.
