On a 65 would the wiper knob have the center push button if the car had washers? My car has the switch for washers, but the knob does not have a center push button. I know the 66 did because my 66 was all original and it had a push button.
Thanks, Dale |

Yes, the center push button was to operate the washer pump.
I assume the 2-speed wipers came with the washer and the single-speed wipers did not. |

The switch on my car is single speed and has the washer option, but the knob does not have the washer push button. So I assume the previous owner replaced the switch with the wrong one since the car does not have the washer pump, bottle, or nozzles but has a single speed motor. I am planning on adding the washer system and a two speed pump during the rebuild so I guess when I get to the interior I will have to hunt down the proper knob for the washers. As always, thank for the information, Dale |

You need a whole new switch. Don't think single speed with washer was available.

I am planning on getting the two speed switch with washer. I will also have to find the knob with washer.
All of the new single speed switches that are now sold have the washer button and have washer capability. I am sure that is why this car has a single speed switch with washer although the car was not set up for washers. I was just trying to make sure that the proper knob would have the button in the center for washers. Thanks, Dale |
