Oh, I've got it pretty slick now...not perfect but it matches the rest of the car finish wise.
In fact, I've got it on the car now doing all my final tweaking before the last coat.
Don't want to get it nice and smooth only to start beating on it for fitment issues.

Could someone clarify a bit about the term "2K". I thought it meant "2 parts" like most modern paints that have a catalyst. Isn't all epoxy a "2K" product? Being two parts. Or when it is said no 2k urethane ....that means no urethane, not no 2k products at all.

Yes, you are correct. In the industrial paint business 2K refers to virtually any type of product that has 2 required components to it for it to properly cure. However, on this forum, and in the auto body business, 2K usually refers to primer/filler type materials that use an isocyanate hardener, not 2-component epoxy. (Took me a while to learn this, too.)

The rubber 'spacers' on the core support...fender supports or whatever....I thought I had a pair but turns out I was mistaking them for the ones that cushion the rear bumper.
What are the core support fender spacers called and who has them? Inline tube?
Endura looks good by the way....

I believe those support rubbers are in the inline tube catalog or online.
I wish inline would reproduce the rubbers that go on the rear bumper outer support pieces that bolt to the back of the quarters. I have a hard time finding those ones.

I was roaming around the junkyard a couple of months ago and ran across a '69 Lemans 4 dr that had a perfect pair. Also, the entire rear ledge of the trunk pan...the part that is notoriously different from the '68 pan....was in perfect condition. It even had the factory fuel vent tube and plug in place. If I'd had any tools with me, I would have taken it all....but I was just browsing around.

Finally got it smoothed to my satisfaction. Not perfect but looks pretty good....and no 2K!

Like I said, it's still not perfect but the parts that are seen when it's mounted are pretty darn close. I can still see a pimple or two in that second pic...but they are on the underside.
I could do it once or twice more and probably get it perfect but I've already used the better part of a QUART on this thing. I did learn though, that even epoxy will fill small imperfections such as pores, sanding scratches and cracks if applied and sanded enough times. I think I've done this one 8 or 9 times now (sanding most of it away) and it adds up.
At least, that's my impression...correct me if I'm wrong someone?
