Would be hard to make it on a Thursday night, would have to take car & trailer to work, off @ 5:00, and fight the I-85 traffic. If you ever do something on a Friday or weekend, drop me a note.

I usually race a couple times a month on sat. at Greer. So looking at your avatar, did you work at KSC?

Same deal, if you guys run on a weekend I might be able to haul up there for fun.
How strict is the tech?

No, that was last years Hot Rod Power Tour. The mag took a bunch of pics throughout the entire trip. I still haven't found my pic going across the bricks at Indy.

Union would probably be a good choice for the weekend crowd.

It kind of depends. Yes, it's crazy. Everyone has to have a helmet, but they don't care what kind. If you have a late model Corvette or Viper ect... You can run as quick as you want. The track is an IHRA, even though they dont point race it's crazy. The manager says it due to their insurance, but the head guy at IHRA told them since these Vettes and such are basically engineered to go 200 mph they can go as fast as they want for 660 feet. When I take my 2011 Corvette Grand Sport they don't even look at it. There are several Vettes that run low 7's and high 6's with no bar. I'll have to let you know after tomorrow night, if I go under 7.50, if I get grief for no roll bar in my 79 TA . I have a good friend with a 87 Grand National that got booted when he started going under 7.50. My back up plan is to go to Shady Side in N.C. It's an "outlaw" track and you can run a street car pretty quick there with no roll bar. At least low 7's and even down in the 6's some, but if you are quicker than that then you really do need a bar and or cage. Other than the roll bar deal at Greer they don't actually tech the cars. The guy in the ET shed where you get your slip just looks in your car and calls the tower if needs be.

Union is pretty relaxed. First time out with the 455 ran 7.88 with no helmet. Nothing was said.

Wish Greer wasn't so far for me(2 hrs). Union is 30 minutes from me.

Used to go to Greer alot years ago but got tired of the ricer crowd and the slowest moving staging lanes I've ever been in, unless your a track buddy. I've been going to Shady Side for years now. Like mentioned it's an outlaw track so you don't have to be tech approved. Ronnie will ask folks running 7.50 or so to put on a helmet. I've been 7.15 with no issues from the track, just a helmet and factory seatbelts. Anyway I'll be at Shady Side tonight, testing out my new 12 bolt.

Forgot to mention Shady Side has tnt on Sunday afternoons as well. Ronnie keeps the track open year round as long as it's dry and above 50 or 60 or degrees.

Yeah Ronnie is great. He always appreciates the people that run there. Every single time I've been he walks through the staging lanes thanking racers for being there. It's about an hour for me so I don't get to run there often. Greer is 10 mins from my house.

I can sometimes hear Greer dragway from my back porch, but I rarely go there anymore. It's been years.

Wonder what the Road Race car would do with some drag radials on back and some skinnies up front? 11.5:1 KRE headed 407, M21 and a 3.55 posi
Hmmmm

Probably never get out of 2nd gear on the 1/8 mile.

Bring it out there if you wanna know. I'll take my drag radials/wheels off my car and let you make a couple passes with them if you want to.

It wouldn't be this week that's for sure, doing a mad thrash to try and make Road Atlanta next weekend.

But, after this race I have the summer off, I might take you up on that offer sometime this summer.
It'd be fun.

And, if any of you decide to go to Union, let me know and I'll try and come down.
I have a reserved pit spot @ Union.

Shady side testing on Sunday is hard to beat for $7.00 to run your car.

Tech at greer - never been tech'd and I've been a lot . Just need a helmet and pants. I'm usually running in the 6.70s.

Ducks goat-As far as operation- seems to run real smooth no real problems I don't see too many ricers- but I'm from orlando so anywhere else prob. Doesn't have as many.

I like greer- they also seem to have the best payout I've seen in a bracket program. Now if only I could start winning again!

Well didn't have to worry about the roll bar rule tonight. As I pulled into the staging lanes my nitrous feed line ruptured. Already had turned the timing back ect....
Anyway went 8.20 @ 85 mph on the motor. I've got a nitrous cam and had 110 Sunoco race gas, so it was over octaned for just motor. Was kinda disappointed, but it felt like it is gonna run like a raped ape once I replace the feed line. Oh well, maybe next week. It's tough to get that 4015 lbs moving. 60' was 1.86.
