haha!! Mine runs on 115 volts and has wheels you can put on as it lowers, lifts the posts and can roll outside ( given a tall door), but also alllows it to be moved inside too if you want.
About $2,600 price tag ( mine is a bit wider and taller so I can put my HD on it, and under it, though) NOTE> I used ratchet straps to the frame bumper brackets, car on lift to hold nose in place ( minus grilles) to get it aligned, at shoulder level it was great seeing it all. ( vs jacking back of subframe up and letting nose hang)
Of course now I can see every bug on the lower valence too!
can vacuum the tranny coller and radiator through the grille with a small tool for the vacuum ( more bugs)

NICE!

Since the car has all the chrome and stainless trim: horizontal ding guards, fender edge trim, window trim, etc., I will refrain from striping it. But if it didn't have all that I'd go with the silver stripe. That is cool. I only wish that red was an interior choice in 1972. I am a sucker for the classic black paint with red gut color scheme.

The very first Pontiac I ever lusted after was a 1970 GTO, black with rear wing and a bright red interior. I saw it brand new, back in the Summer of 1970. My Summer camp counselor had just bought it and had it parked by itself in a grove of trees next to the local elementary school in Orange, Connecticut where I was sentenced to serve 60 days as an inmate...er, camper at the local town camp. (Nothing like having to go to camp at the very school you just spent the entire year attending - what a bummer when you're 8 years old!)

:-)

Here is what taking the inner fender allows you to access the bulkhead area directly. Imagine trying to get that central reatining bolt out of the bulkhead terminal by feel.

Here is the condensor that I removed from the car. Still had the caps on the fitting ends. If anyone can identify it, they can have it!

And the crazy electric fan and the resulting fixed blade fan that it required when it took up too much room behind the radiator. Can anyone use this electric fan setup?

And the rewly repainted, late 1971 fan that FormulaBruce sent me. Along with the new drive hub I bought. Just waiting for the new radiator to arrive.

Did you find a date stamped on the other side of the fan?

Do you have an example of one? All I could see was the word "Front" stamped on the front face of the ring that the blades attached to. Then again my eyes aren't so hot for close up viewing anymore.

I rechecked the fan blades and couldnt see any numbers. Must be on the front side of the flange up against the clutch unit.

BTW, I ran the part number on the four bladed fan that was in the car: 3462185.

It comes back as: "Four Bladed Cooling fan 6 cyl & Hemi SS"

It's a 1971 fan. I pulled the new clutch off the fan and it is a 1971 fan with the same number ending in 5502 below the word "FRONT", as pictured in the link above. The rest of the number is too lightly stamped to be legible but there is a "MAR" and a "71". Directly above the "71" is stamped "BC"

Sounds like a late '71 model to me. Thanks for being curious and checking.

Got the rebuilt clock, door solenoid and new front speaker back in the car this evening. And everything actually works now! Even the high speed position on the heater box, now that the new engine harness is in place. Now i just need the new radiator and I can bolt the front back together.

The solenoid and the clock came from Frank Rosenzweig in Sprng Hill, Florida. [email protected] He was the guy that you posted the link to. He had a rebuilt door solenoid in stock and also had a rebuilt original clock as well (not a quartz conversion). I have to send him back the old solenoid core.

I got the new 4x10 dash speaker from these guys: http://www.turnswitch.com/speakers.htm. Fit perfectly in the original dash bracket.
