Default Some 1968-69 GTO stuff

I saw these items at the AACA library in Hershey. I think they will interest you.

Default 1968 special order colors

Those four special oder colors, it says, are available for all 1968 series "Except the GTO with Endura bumper" . I guess it took them a year to figure out how to paint the bumper? Go figure...

My guess is that special paint was needed for the Endura so it could have elastic properties without cracking. For a limited color selection, it was likely that they didn't want to incur the cost of a special batch of Endura paint. Perhaps someone else knows better.

Interesting that on the sheet about the 69 stripe colors that they say that the 69 accent stripe (lower body) was no charge. Must be a typo since it was a $13.69 option (494-D98)

There's an original-paint pink '68 LeMans on the Ultimate GTO site.

I remember a pink 68 GTO showing up on Ebay about a year ago or slightly more- a project car in OK or somewhere
