I made a pass sun with the weight out and it went a 9.25 but that was a different day so i did not bring it up. I tried it on that q16 pass sat, but the car was sitting all screwy with the weight out and no other changes Your pops ride is bad a$$ for sure and i hope likes the converter change. I need to get my pos to 60 better.

Ya but you lost to Marcella on your first run so that should bring it back down to 15k

Does the 8.88 time slip come with it? Not a copy of the time slip but the actual time slip? Lol actually for the same price I can get a 582bbc that makes 1074hp. And yes I have seriously considered that direction.

The problem I see for this class is our Pontiacs can't make the cid the other makes can. So we have to make more hp/cid than they do. In my opinion 1.85-1.9 hp/cid should be achievable with our Pontiacs & remain pretty maintenance free. But you have to be willing to spend the money in the right place to make that hp and live. With just a little more work 2hp/cid is within reach.
Brian,

Sorry to hear about the lifter issue you had, I was really hoping to see that thing run @ Cordova this fall. Based on what happened, do you still feel the same way as you did when you made this post?

Alright I'll say this about my new build. Im now feeling confident in the parts I've acquired so far. As far as my block.......Im now confident in this thing after the manufacture has been more than willing to stand behind there product.*
As far as heads y'all know the direction I will go so I'm not going there. Ohio forged 4.5 crank and Manley h- beam rods,Ross pistons. NONE offset isky redone lifters with ez rollers. And for camshaft um I'll say it's a comp. but still going bald scratching my head on what the specs should be.And yes still looking for that 925+ horse on the dyno out of Emporia KS.

how come you are using a forged crank and not a billet at this level? you race every weekend dont you? wouldnt that be a worthy upgrade? curiuos as to why manley steel rods too, not aluminum? you are turning some serious rpm arent you? what rpm is it at when it comes off the stop? thanks

Forged crank AVAILABILITY! Once again availability is the reason I'm going with forged. As for Manley steel rods Contingency dollars.Aluminum rods well....I like them a lot a whole lot. But since I only turn 6900 through the lights I feel I don't really need them. Rpm coming off the stop is 4150-4175.When I ran the car wideopen last year I shifted at 6500 and went through the traps at 6900. It seems crazy to me that if I shift at .6 into the run or if I shift at 6500 the car still crosses the 1/4 mile stripe at 6900 but it does!

Ask Dave if you should go billet at that horsepower level.

I might trust a Scat at that level, an SGI no way, I have no experience with Ohio to form an opinion. Keep in mind that your rpm is going to increase to make power with that bore/stroke combo
