Hi,
I am looking to get a 1965 Automatic 2-speed transmissioin for my 1965 GTO. I am hoping something with a date code of December 1965 L??4. Please let me know if anyone has one.

I am not sure as the car's transmission was replaced. Do you have one?

I have one in S.C. if you can't find one closer. Don't know the date code but will look if you tell me where it's located. Swapped it out for 4 speed. I have the shifter and all the accs.

Did the transmissioin your refering to come out of a 1965 GTO? And if so what do you want for the transmission and all assessories? Actuall call me at 978-729-2546

It came out of a LeMans. I have the shifter, linkage and even the correct console.
I have attached a picture of the car it was removed from. The car only had about 65k miles on it when I made a GTO out of the LeMans. It had the 2speed trans and a 326. Still have the motor also.
How about 200 bucks for the trans and shifter w/all the misc. parts.

Correct on the cover.

Date should be stamped in servo cover on RH side as others have mentioned above. Photos borrowed from another thread about this topic.
I think the NB in second pic denotes GTO application on a 65?
Third pic is of my 66 GTO servo cover showing NA = GTO.

The second pic above shows an automatic with a date of 199 days into the 65 production year.
The third pic shows 90 days (090) into the 66 production year.

Very good information. So i have a 1965 GTO that has date codes of December 0f 1964 on the intake, rear end, block, etc and the data plate show that the car was completed on the first week of January 1965. So what should i expect for a date code of a tranmission for this car?

My 66 GTO has the same date window as your 65 but obviously one year later. My drivetrain etc. is all late Nov. 65, Dec. 65 into very early Jan. 66 with a data plate of 2nd week of Jan. 66. My auto trans is shown above at 090 days into the 66 model build so I would think your 65 should have a similar date of 90 + or - days to be correct enough.

Didn't look there will go back and see if I can locate the code. I did find this #1357670. It was on the side where the odometer cable attaches.

I have a low miles 1965 2 speed out of a Tempest Custom with a 326. I am located just south of Cleveland.
