Default Paint question?

When trying to match paint for touch up, is there much difference between manufactures if you do not know which manufacture you have on the car? Is there a new technique in matching the color shade I should look for or just use the paint code number ?

Thanks, Wes

Thanks.. That's what I was looking for, I figured with all the new technology there had to be some great way to match paint.

While the computer matching is helpful, I found a fellow at a local auto paint supplier who had the experience to match the paint. The factory code was close and with a little adjusting with the human eye we came up with a extremely close match.

Well, thanks for pointing me in the right direction! It's so simple when you have a professional do it.
