Default Big Injun Accused of Elder Abuse

The last race yesterday was my chance to "beat the Tiger". I ran a 10.0485 on a 10.04 and lost. I was caught napping and Dave Anderson (Big Injun) spanked me good.

Sounds like you had a great weekend Jim, except for Dave's abuse.

Congrats on the 9's

OMT and I go way back and rarely have we had the chance to race against one another. Jim has traveled to quite a few events where I have put on the "Beat the Tiger" program. He was randomly drawn a couple of years back but passed on the opportunity because he was "in the money" and could ill-afford our match race.

On Saturday things were different. OMT had already won his bracket and was anxious for his chance to "Beat the Tiger". I of course had other plans.

The Tiger (and driver) had been very consistent all weekend running within a couple of hundredths. I was looking forward to our race.

As we were rolling into the burnout box, the car in OMT's lane put down some water. That forced us to wait while they cleaned the lane. I spent my time concentrating on cutting a good light while OMT worried about the groove. Worse yet, we were following the diesel racers who had left a bit of debris on the track. I had hope that after they cleaned up Taylor's lane they would do the same to mine...no such luck.

We staged, the tree came down, and with me being the slower car I got the leave...and spun the tires. I was not looking back as I knew I was going to have to run it out the back door to hopefully win. Looking over my shoulder I saw and heard OMT closing but I was able to take the stripe and the win.

It wasn't until I picked up the time slip that I saw that I had "treed" the old man pretty good...and that rarely is the case.

GR-RRReat race and even better...a win for the Tiger.

I ran another "Beat the Tiger" race later in the afternoon and ran a 53 on a 53 dial. Nobody beat the Tiger this weekend...

Thanks to Steve Barcak and his team for a fun day at Speedworld.
