Default Best magazine about steam railroading and restoration?

I'd like to get my dad a subscription to a magazine that covers the old days of steam railroading and current news on steam fan trips and locomotive restorations. He's a steam freak and volunteers to work on live steam, so he knows the subject. Can anybody recommend a good magazine subscription or similar? Thanks!
