1970 Barracuda Gran Coupe, wanted him to store it in the barn until 1976 when I turned 16, but no dice, he sold it in '73 or '74. It had a 318, leather bucket seats, and an automatic with console shifter.

Dad never owned a car. Carpenter by trade so it was always a Chevy truck, long wide bed that a sheet of plywood would fit in. He made a camper shell to protect all of the kids on the long drive to Ohio to visit in the summers.

My parents split before i started school.
Dad almost immediately bought a 63 Vette White split-window 4spd sidepipes.
And proceeded to be a textbook ladies man of the day and time.

He took me to my first day of school in that car in 1970.
I was "the Corvette kid" all year.

But my favotite was his next car.
He traded the 63 in on a brand new 72 Stingray Vert
Deep Blue Met - Blk top - Auto - AC - sidepipes.

About a year or so later he re-married and she made him sell it.

Took my drivers test in 79 using his his 75-76 Olds98 cargo-barge.
Test guy told me to never park the car on the street anywhere-
there wouldn't be enough room between fire hydrants and i'd get a ticket.
Only asked to drive it once afterwards.

Not my father but my grandfather....'61 Coupe De Ville convertible...Spanish Leather interior. He owned an auto repair shop in Oakland..the car came in after slipping a parking brake and fell into the bay...he immediately hosed everything with fresh water...removed the door panels...just flushed everything clean. He kept the car as insurance paid the owner for a total loss. The car is still in the family although I haven't seen it in a few years. Never changed a tire on it tho....lol

My Dad had a '64 Comet convertible, turquoise blue w/ white top, that he bought new. He later traded that car for a nightwatch blue '65 Tempest wagon. Mom had a neat little early '60's Falcon, black/red, during the same time frame. Unfortunately, it was all downhill after that...

The only car I remember is a 1954 Green Bel Air, my Grampa had a matching Yellow one. My dad passed in 1959......But my ex Brother in law was a car guy and had a 70 granada gold RA IV GTO 4 speed with a rubber top. Traded it before it was 6 months old for a 70 Blue LS6 auto Chevelle SS. My cousin had a 62 Vette, 63 409 impala and a 68 black 68 Chevelle SS 396. I think he may have been an influence on turning me into a car guy as he was the one who taught me how to paint and do mechanical.

dad was a pick-up guy too he had a nice 65 long bed with a passanger car 4 speed dark blue with a set of ansens and then mom had a nice 66 gto

My dad had a 50 Chevy half ton for a while, never did much with it. I remember helping him bleed the brakes.
Of the ones he drove, probably the 70 Cutlass wagon, that I learned to drive in.

My choices are kind of limited as we didn't have very cool cars growing up. There was a '63 Galaxie before my time.

I have a sweet spot for our old '77 LTD County Squire Station Wagon with a 460 2bbl but the never completed '75 Invader GT kit car which had '73 T/A honeycomb wheels on it would probably be my favorite. I won many imaginary races in that car while it languished in our garage.

My Dad had a 1963 Thunderbird. White, black vinyl roof and black interior. First car I went fast in. So I thought at the time.

My fave has to be my Dad's '69 Custom S. Liberty Blue 2 door hardtop. He bought in the fall of '68. Orderded it through where he worked, the Pontiac Motors Foundry.
I was in first grade at the time. The day he brought it home I was standing in the garage and watched him pull in. I thought some stranger had arrived! That car made quite an impression on me!

1982 Cadillac Eldorado Touring Coupe, the one with little chrome trim and no hood ornament. Owned it two years and then he traded it in for an '84, dark blue with blue interior, tan fake convertible top, and full wheelcovers instead of the tacky wires. Was quite classy during the lean years.

...my dad went in partners with me on this car in 1988, he wanted to own a winged car but wouldn't put up the cash, so we split on this one

...the Daytona had 6K original miles

...he had lots of cool cars when I was a kid, many convertibles - 57 Fords, 61 Chevy, 65 Ford...also a 31 Ford, several 55 Chevys...he never grew up and neither have I

...the Daytona, dealer installed 6-PACK
...65 Ford, I learned to drive in this car
...68 GTO...he helped me order a new '68 GTO, he drove it as much as I did

My Dad had a '55 ragtop Beetle that he restored in the early 80's. It was pretty cool for a VW. My favorite is still the 68 RS/SS 350 Camaro. He sold it when my brother came along.

Black, white int. 68 Firebird 400 4sp. Had multiple motors in it over the years from a RAV, RAIV, and a 455HO.

Sat in the passenger seat on many occasions growing up when he would get into a race with someone.

Personally never drove it faster than 25mph. (my father reads this forum)
