They, the Butlers and Travis Quillen, today are not using about 500 HP that they have available. Common sense says that with a slightly different set-up that they would lower their record. Chassis vs turbo is a big deal.

Might be possible to go faster with a State of the Art T-88 Turbo Package vs their current larger 91mm "old school" turbos that they have had for many years.

So many ways to beat the current record with some extra money for Turbo or Chassis upgrades. That being said, they still have the HP to go into the 5s.

(As does Mr Bill Mellott with his "state of the art" Chassis and boosted engine parts.
Bill just needs more track time to get his deal sorted out and he WILL be in the 5s).

Yep -- I would like to see 6.50s - car has the power for 6.20s or 30s but gotta figure out how to get to the ground.

That's what it is all about Curt...power management. Some people don't understand that concept. They think because it makes "x" amount of power that it will run "x" time and that's the furthest thing from the truth with high HP applications. I'm sure you will get it squared away!

I predict the black Tempest breaking more drive train parts next year. Tested once last month. Tire shake netted us a bent/broken wheelie bar, electric shifter components rattled apart, and a loud grinding/clanking sound coming from inside the rearend housing. I've already bought 4 ring and pinion sets this year. Seems like every time I let the clutch out its eats $1000! I know we are close to figuring out what this thing wants for tranny ratios. We keep taking ratio out to calm it down, but it seems that the motor makes more torque the more we load it. Guess I'll keep throwing parts at it until we find the sweet spot!

Haha I made the list.

I predict next year I will be on the list because of my car's performance...hopefully because it runs really strong.

I have purchase the engine, the carb (and shortly) the headers from people on the list...if it doesn't run the number its all on me.
