This is my current setup as of right now (basic rebuild) with the addition of the 73 GTO 350 heads I'm about to put on and was just wondering if I should go with different rockers/rods or stick to factory?
ENGINE 77 400 (L78) Rebuild bored 60 over Edelbrock 2157 performance plus cam/lifters Edelbrock performer Intake new cast pistons Crank turned 10 new cam bearings new main rod bearings all new freeze plugs block was decked and line bored new elderbrock valve springs install new bronze valve guides and they also got a three angle valve job and new push rods. HEADS #46 heads (74' 350 GTO), I took them to Long's Racing Engines to have them worked on. They did a complete valve job (2.11), milled heads, bowl job, replaced guides, valves, seals. |

doesn't hurt to change the rods, but since you are at a low power build (meaning not like 500+hp and turning serious rpms) you would be fine
i ran a setup similar and it wasn't bad, more of a torque monster if your rods check out clean, have good quality bolts and all they'll be fine as far as rockers, your fine as well, but later on adding some 1.7 crowers may be a nice benefit (provided you have p-rod clearance), as well as PTCV the setup you have when i ran it was awesome with the 3:73 rear i had and got some great MPGs too use a good quality timing chain, and perhaps invest in the Simms cam retainer too |
