Well some good news. Cammer-6 had given me some info about the key I had found. I had taken the trunk lock out of the car years ago and came across it again when I cleaned the car back out. The key fit that lock!
Thanks to all |

One major detail you left out...
the correct keycode is still on the knock out. Put that key away and use another.

Nice project, and fwiw I also have a meridian turq GTO restoration underway, awaiting warmer weather at the moment. Most of the car has been blocked in primer.
I think it is a great color.

I'm really amazed how many MT GTOs are coming out of the woodwork.

Thanks for all the interest. I will be moving the updates under the 68-69 GTO Tempest & LeMans Tech forum.
We did a little this evening. Will post it up there. |

Thanks, the car is solid. Typical stuff. under front and back glass. Small place under rear seat on drivers side and a few small places here and there. Car is originally from Texas and New Mexico.
I am just north of Knoxville. (about 30 miles) |
