I know you were,

but a few posts back someone else asked what it was, and I think that they had never heard the phrase, so just to be safe I posted to cover both.

What I wrote about Dick wasn't fair. A guy who wins Cup rookie of the year in his late 40's isn't at all like a tinker's damn. Not to mention growing up with and not changing the name his hillbilly parents gave him.

No, but I can't think of a more quintessential NASCAR driver name.

We need to get back on topic. Carl and Dick are 2 drivers more deserving than to be mentioned in the same thread as Danica.

Last time at phoenix she started 37 and finished 17.
Was in position to "possibly" break top 10 - but lost about 5+ positions in a last lap wreck.
1 of the few races she finished last year.
She drove the race good though.

If they get the car handling dialed in better , she should be okay.
Top 10 would be a big accomplishment.

Maybe NASCAR should try having her shake her ass in the pits until the last pitstops and then send her out in 1st place.

38th.

It will take Kurt Busch (backup car) and Denny Hamlin (engine) a lap or 2 to put her back in 40th...

Talking "Doing it in the dirt is the pits!"

Heard DaniKants’ comment about "our crew is pitting in the dirt"...reminds me of the old days when that's all there was - dirt and gravel pits. Would be awesome to hear someone like AJ Foyts' reaction to that "in the dirt pit" statement. A salty reply almost guaranteed from him – and other veteran drivers.

Guess you've gotta qualify in the top 10 to get one of those 'cushy' paved & covered pit stalls. Whats next to be installed - Pit Area Bidets?

Shows how much Wanica knows about racing...

I've been inside the track multiple times at Phoenix. I've watched qualifying from pit road.

There is no DIRT/GRAVEL in or near the pits or the garage area.

Her hauler was parked on dirt. Huge difference.

Phoenix qualifying 2/26/11...

Garage area - see any dirt?

Pit road - see any dirt?

I don't see any dirt under Tony's feet, do you?
