Talking "Doing it in the dirt is the pits!"

Heard DaniKants’ comment about "our crew is pitting in the dirt"...reminds me of the old days when that's all there was - dirt and gravel pits. Would be awesome to hear someone like AJ Foyts' reaction to that "in the dirt pit" statement. A salty reply almost guaranteed from him – and other veteran drivers.

Guess you've gotta qualify in the top 10 to get one of those 'cushy' paved & covered pit stalls. Whats next to be installed - Pit Area Bidets?

Shows how much Wanica knows about racing...

I've been inside the track multiple times at Phoenix. I've watched qualifying from pit road.

There is no DIRT/GRAVEL in or near the pits or the garage area.

Her hauler was parked on dirt. Huge difference.

Phoenix qualifying 2/26/11...

Garage area - see any dirt?

Pit road - see any dirt?

I don't see any dirt under Tony's feet, do you?

I've got enough laps around a dirt track to admit to that...

Ha Ha That's the spirit! Good One.

BTT - Danica out of race. Lets see if she can win one. Odds takers?

Actually it's 300:1

http://sportsdirect.usatoday.com/odd...ay/nascar.aspx

Her fellow rookie of the year candidate (and current main squeeze) Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is 50:1.

Austin Dillon - a part time Cup competitor this year and probably RotY candidate for 2014 is 200:1.

That says more about her talent (or lack thereof) because it's a known fact that she has top quality equipment and crews. The only reason the odds are so high is her own driving ability.

300, 500, what ever it takes.

Your last line is what irritates me the most about all this. Plenty of chicks, even better looking chicks (if that's a person's female racer standard), out there who actually stand a chance of winning.

Here's a video of what happened to her at Phoenix race.
More than likely would have ended anyone's day at the track.

http://www.businessinsider.com/video...raceway-2013-3

She never got up higher than around 25th
Ryan Newman had bad day too.

Pastrana had bad day in Saturday Nationwide race too.

I watched the race - I know what happened.

Get used to her running around 25th - that's most likely where she'll finish in the points.

If she averages 25th out a field of 43, i'd say thats pretty good for a female in a mans sport.

I personally know at least 1 female who strongly disagrees... and would probably snatch your nuts out and use them for dice for suggesting it.

I disagree, she has some of the best equipment, and there are probablly only 30-35 cars out there that are actually trying to run the whole race, there are usually 2-8 start and park drivers who will only run for 10-40 laps and park it in the garage.

If anyone has seen "Days of Thunder" Cole Trickle was like Wanica in some ways, came from an open wheeled car, had no idea of what physics made the stock car go around the track and how to manage tires, brakes, etc.

She also never worked on a car and never will, just shows up to drive the car and make commercials. Her car owner got wrecked during the Daytona 500 and they showed him in the garage working on his car trying to get the car ready to return to the race. I've also seen Tony change tires in the pits at dirt races. I've also seen "Super Tex" A.J.Foyt working on his own car in 1982 (Indy 500) towards the end of his driving career working on his car in the pits. Wanica would be lost trying to do anything on the car.

If you have no idea of how a car works or even how to do minor things on it you'll probably have no idea of how to manage the cars resources, IMO.

Lightbulb

Someone needs to clue them in: Her in car play by play description of how the car is running is a total waste of time and IMO diminishes her more as a driver.

Think about it: Any other driver doing the same...for more than a few seconds? Nope!
