Which Pontiac model has the most plentiful NOS or reproduction parts?
Trans Ams 1970-1981. Select your year
Formula 1970-1981. Select your year GTO -select your year Other Pontiac which came with a Pontiac engine. Brother and I are considering purchasing one of the above but would like to know how parts availabity or scarcity currently is. This is interior. Well post same for exterior. |

Check out your forum host`s catalog. You`ll get a good idea there. You`ll prolly find out that GTO`s and 2`nd gen. Firebirds are easier than full size or X bodys, and are about the same as each other.

I would submit "other Pontiac" being first gen Firebird.
Given the shared parts with the Camaro and the fact that one can buy a complete body shell for a '67, '68 and I think '69, sub frames and pretty much everything else , I'd say first gen Firebirds have the best parts support out of the Pontiac line. |

I have had no problem finding 2nd gen firebird parts for my present 76 build. I have always been able to find any hard to find parts I needed by contacting fellow enthusiasts. I was able to buy 2 parts cars 6 or 7 years ago for $300. I even was able to get $100 for the left over cut up cab from a local junk yard. I have an attic full of parts now. In addition, their are many large and small distributors to acquire almost everything. I built my parts and tool collections up before I chose my project and it has really panned out. I still have an entire 80 Esprit that I constantly take/ find parts from.
