Looking at the Build sheet for my Pontiac built 69 Judge it has a code AA in the wheel disc box. I have been told it should be 96 (for Rally II w/ Black center cap). Anyone ever seen this before, or is it just Pontiac Plant's code for the same thing?

I've seen it on some buildsheets.
What's the 'Road Wheel' code? (JA?) The 'AA' is probably for black.

Unfortunately that is one of the boxes that was/is missing from the build sheet. I will assume that it is JA, and that said assume that AA is Pontiac plant code for black center caps.

Finally found another Pontiac Plant 69 Build Sheet with Rally2 , to verify .
68 69 70 Those 3 years - Pontiac Plant - the Black Center Caps were coded 96 . The Red Centers mid year-forward , on 70 , were coded 01 . All the Pontiac Plant 68,69,70 Build Sheets i have - all have Numeric codes for wheel disc whether its a hubcap car or Rally2 car . Don't think you will find one with Alpha code in wheel disc box. |

I wish my build sheet was in better condition (if i think about touching it, another piece falls off) so I could scan and post. It most definitely has AA in the wheel disc box. I have no clue what was in the road wheel box as that portion is long gone (before I found the build sheet).

This is a 68 Lemans VooDoo Green with Black rims and Poverty Caps.
Wheel color = A Road wheel = HG Wheel Disc = 22 |

Did you ink over the original ?
Or is it still as found ? I have a copy of the inked over version , and the PHS . If original is still as found - you might could try taking a picture instead of trying to scan it . Was wondering/pondering if they might have done a delete on the Rally2 and went with Steel Wheels and Poverty caps. But seems like a credit would have been issued on Invoice or noted on B.Sheet . idunno |

no that portion is as found. There are a couple of spots that I inked over (what a duma** i was). I will try to carefully pull it out of the bag and get a better picture.
(scares me a bit) |

Ok...I couldn't bring myself to pull it out of the bag. I am just too afraid that it will not survive as it has been in there for 20 years or so. One picture is of the whole thing just to show what shape it is in, and the other is me trying to get a clearer pic. I have a better camera that I will try later

The 69 and 70 sheets seem to be mostly identical .
Let me check through whatever 70 sheets i might have and try to find anything else. Yours , and the 69 G.Prix are the only 69 Pontiac Plant sheets i have . |

i wouldn't mess with it again either .
Just not worth it for this. Believe your deal is just going to be an error or unknown of some sort . More than likely an error . Poverty caps are about only thing i can imagine on a Judge . A hubcap or just plain black naked wheel just seems crazy . And since they did upgrade to G70x14 RedLines on your car - even less likely . |

Definitely reads like AA .
All the 68 69 70 71 72 Pontiac Plant B.Sheets i have on file have a Numeric Code in wheel disc box. Poverty , Hubcaps , Rally2 , Honeycombs AA "could" have been for black front and rear floor mats code right next to wheel disc - but your car wasn't ordered with floor mats .... Have to chalk it up as an error is all i can gather . 96 is the black center cap code tho. |

Hmm. That one has an extra "TAC" (for good measure).

Way to go John !
Good find on that 69 Judge sheet . So maybe for 69 - AA stood for Black Center WITHOUT Trim Rings . ? But then wonder what told them not to do Trim Rngs on 70 and 71 Judge ? idunno .. just guessing The 70 sheet i posted is real good to enlarge for study. Anything with (#) means N/A or not taken , etc ... Can't find anything on sheet pertaining to wheels/wheel trim with # Anyone else have any 69 Pontiac Plant Build Sheets ?? |
