With most fender emblems I've seen on GM cars, the emblems are just pushed in using small barrel nuts in the hole.
I was lightly trying to pry off the fender "GTO" emblems on my 68 but they weren't coming off. Are these just pushed in or are they secured on the backside? I'm hoping it's the former, because if not I can't see any way to remove the emblems without removing the fender... Thanks!

From the factory they are put on with 3/8" speed nuts. You can install/remove them with the fender on but it's no fun. I've cut the heck out of my forearm many times doing it that way.
After I had the car painted I saved my forearms and used barrel nuts.

UGH. I was afraid of that. So - any tips to not remove the entire fender?

I hate to say it but a touch of silicone in each hole will hold it there for life
