Default Are bumper guards worth it? You decide.

I had a kid who was so busy eating his Taco that he forgot to watch the road ahead rear end me today. He was smart enough to keep quiet when I walked back and told him “I am not happy”. For some reason I did not just take his information, I called the Police. When the Police came I found that the insurance he was trying to give me was bogus. I am not happy about that. I went straight to my paint guy from the accident.
I felt better after talking to him. No sheet metal damage, just gouges in the paint that went to bare metal. He said that he would wet sand and buff my entire car after doing the touch up.
I must say that a 1962 Pontiac Tempest is stronger than a 20?? Mazda. I did not take any pictures of his car, but there was a print and crease at least 2 inches wide where it wrapped around the bumper guard on my car.

Don,,Glad its not too bad. Sucks though!! I got rearended by a 190E mercedes many years ago. The only real damage to the back of my car was chipped paint under the right rear tail light. The Mercedes had to be tow'd!! Coolant on the ground. Both headlights & fenders damaged & hood buckled!! Owner said it was over $4400 bucks of damage!

So when I went to have my custom steel wheels made i trailered the car down to the shop, while it was on the trailer some uninsured dude in a civic backed into my car while it was on the trailer, buckled his trunk and did no damage to my car, he gave me 200 cash to not call the cops on him haha

I was so angry that the best thing to do was stay quiet. Even more so with Mr. Beretta in my hip pocket. The cop was cool with it. When he got there the first thing I said was "I have a concealed carry license, and I am carrying.” He just asked where it was. I told him. Then he said just keep it there.

I hope they ticketed & impounded the non-insured driver's car.

My cousin is a Washington State Trooper. He said to only tell the police you have a concealed carry license, they will understand. Never say you have a gun, they read that the wrong way.
