Default What's the trick to remove a wiper motor from the linkage in a '66?

I know there must be something simple that I'm missing... got the screws undone, harnesses off, but it's still connected to the linkage on the inside.

In a related matter, can you rent the tool to pop the wiper arms off?

Thanks!

Don't remember on the motor, but the arms - you just remove the little clips and use a wonder bar or similar to pry them off the splines.

Thanks for the reminder.

I got my manual on CD (horrible navigation) but I'm sure it is there.

Amen. I thought I was the only one who ever complained about that.

If you pull the motor as far forward as you can, you should be able to access the nut on the back of the motor that holds the crank arm to the motor. If you have the cowl grille off, it it much easier to acces that crank arm nut.

I have used a regular prybar, a towel, flat pc of wood to back the bar from pressing into the cowl grill.
If near Atco come on by.......1/2 hour tops to remove it all.

X2 You may have to move the blades to an upright position when doing this.

It's probably easier to loosen the two nuts and split the pivot if it's accessible when the linkage is pulled out.
