Default 1970 tempest crate motor options

I recently purchased a 1970 tempest with the original 6 cylinder engine. What are my options in crate v-8 motors that will fit on the original auto transmission. I guess it is a powerglide 300 auto.

Not knowing where you are located I would suggest looking at the right side of the screen and clicking on the Butler Performance ad.

Crate engines will cost a ton (min $5K). A much cheaper solution would be to find a running P350 someone took out of their car when moving up in engine sixe and get it cheap. I've seen running engines with the transmission as well for around $500-$1000 depending on what year you want/mileage.

If I was going to the trouble of pulling the L6 I would ditch the powerglide while I had the car off the road and switch over to a TH350.

lenwilliamsautomachine.com has 400 crates for $3600 and 455's for about $600 more. Of course, this doesn't include freight.
