Default Spilled Gasoline

Hi Guys,
A friend of mine just called asking for help and I didn't have an answer so I thought I would try you pros here. He went to get some gas for the mower this morning and on the way home his gas can tipped over in the car. You know the rest.

Is there a magic potion for removing gas and or odor from the carpet ?

Call a Carbrite dealer and buy a gallon of what used to be MALODOR. Dump it in the carpet shut the windows and leave it sit in the sun for 3 days.

It took Cam 2 Purple race fuel out of carpet after a Tank mishap in a 71 Chevy truck. 3 days later the odor was gone.

Mike

What kind of car and where did it spill?
Let it air out and dry up, scrub it down with dish soap and vacuum out with a carpet scrubber. repeat if it still stinks.

Buy a pickup truck, and haul highly flammable gas in a sealed container in the bed.

A little trick I learned with odors in the car (cig gas etc..)

Buy a can of coffee... open the lid and let it sit in the car for a couple days.
This is of course AFTER you have tried to at least clean up the fuel as best as possible.

Odor will go away and after you remove the coffee can, that odor will as well.

Get a bag of charcoal and put it in the trunk, it will absorb a lot of the odor.
