Question???
Has anyone ever heard of a Ram Air IV Firebird or Trans Am being produced as a 1972 model?
If so how many were produced? How many left? |

RAIV ended with the 70 model year. It was 455HO only, in 71 and 72.
If someone is trying to sell you one and is saying it was a factory built car, it's a BS story. |

Quote:
Maximum compression for ANYTHING GM built after that date was close to 8:1... Ram Air IV was the LAST round port 400...71/72 round port motors were 455 HO's.

That answers the question!
Let's flip the script then and use the 455HO as our subject. What is the rarity of a car like that ? |

That car was possibly a Formula 400 car. Looks solid yet (at least compared to what is up here). VIN number would tell you for sure along with what engine it came with. If it is a real Formula 400, that is not a bad price.
