Default Matching Numbers!!!

Sent my 1970 455 4spd to Forrest here in Georgia.
The interior is being changed back to the Red it was born with.

Forrest called this evening and announced that this car has the numbers matching and transmission that came with the car
We will verify the rear end also.

When this car was purchased the owner told me that the motor and trans weren't matching.
He also wanted to know if I was buying the car because of the numbers or because I wanted a fairly solid GTO.
I answered all questions to his satisfaction and now after 3 years of ownership by me I get this great news from Forrest!

I think I'm going to sleep with my PHS under my pillow tonight

That is great news....usually it's the other way around.

I wonder if the previous owner read the EUN & assumed it was wrong thinking it should have had the vin there?

I don't know what it was but I'm happy it worked out this way.
It's great to get some news that wasn't expected.

I was as happy as Vaughn! ( WELL ALMOST) First the engine checked out WOW! Then I looked at the trans. and I almost couldn't believe it.. this is a 4 speed, pretty darn rare the engine wasn't blown up in it's infancy...I'm very excited for Vaughn! congrats!

That's even better than opening a box of cereal and finding the coolest of the three toys shown on the back of the box that might be inside! Happy Happy Happy!
