exhaust tips
I know there are a few folks on this board that have had 68/69 350 HO's A-bodies. Would anyone remember if the chrome exhaust tips, like on the 68 GTO, were used on the factory dual exhaust or were they just plain. I bought a pair from our host but now I'm not sure if I should put them on.

Not sure if '68 was the same as '69, but I know for '69 the chrome tips were optional on any A-body with dual exhaust.

I don't think chrome tips were available with automatic dual exhaust with resonators, but I'm not a resonator expert (and I'd bet you're not running res's anyways!)

My 69 vert came with dual exhaust, AT,resonators and exhaust tips, all factory installed, I believe. I still have the chrome exhaust tips.

From the '69 Accessories brochure- The picture for the chrome tips shows them with resonators.

Thanks for the update on res/tips! The only ones I'd seen were some aftermarket ones that had serious downturns on the ends that a tip wouldn't fit on, those factory pictures are different than the repops I'd seen. Are you still running them paint guy? I'm curious what a resonator car sounds like compared to stock unres.

The 68 tips are different than the 69's. 68's come straight out and the 69 has a bend in it.

gto4ever: original exhaust in its entirety is long gone, I am running a Pypes 2-1/2" system with Walker mufflers.

What is interesting about the 69 tips is that as you can see they were optional on all A bodies even with single exhaust but in the MPC they only show one part number despite manuals having 2.25" and autos running 2".
I looked at my collection of 69 GTO PHS's and I have 20 with the option and about half are automatic cars. Hmm, did the factory produce two sizes but only serviced one size?? Has anyone ever seen a smaller size set?
