Default 74 GTO Trim tag Codes

The trim codes on my 74 GTO are interior 568 R A51. The 568 shows as Red/ White option The A51 decodes as bucket seats (Ref ultimate GTO site) Does anybody know what the R represents. My car now is red carpet, red seats, black headliner, red dash paint, black dashpad, red trim. What is correct for the red / white opt interior? Paint codes are WA 848 = PNT. What are correct exterior colors? It's been painted once but jambs look to be original black. What would be the correct stripes and colors? I've ordered the PHS but have not received it yet. Any help appreciated. 64Indian

I believe there were only 53 black cars from the factory, and they were special paint order, not originally available on 74 GTO??

Just got the car a few weeks ago... Still researching ... all help appreciated.... I've always wanted one to put with my 64 GTO.... First and Last.... Any help appreciated. Everything I have checked is numbers matching as far as drivetrain. A/C car. I think the interior has been spray dyed. Seats are original.

It would be nice to be able to verify that info... Where did you run across the number? I did see on the Ultimate GTO site Black was special order...

Looks great, most that I've seen in person were red.

Some 'clones' featured in HPP were black drag cars, built from plain Venturas.

Except for that "GTO" emblem in the front grille that someone else added over the years.

For some crazy reason I do like the black ones... and the green ones...
Nice looking car you have there!
