yes. sorry I thought that would have been obvious. A few guys told me the same thing a body shop did. That sometimes even the factory didnt properly finish the roofs of cars destined for vinyl and its impossible to say until removed. However Ive become bored with my car and removing the top might be "fun"

Your main problem areas are the top of the windshield and the filler panel between the back window and trunk. If those areas are good, you shouldn't have any problems.

Beautiful car! I see alot of the 69-72 GPs with the hood tach. I think they look great with that. I really like your pics with the Pontiac sign! Nice job!!

As for the sign, McNamara Pontiac is in Orlando, FL. It's amazing that they kept that sign all the way to the end of Pontiac, and even more amazing that the city hasn't taken it down since the demise of Pontiac. I took the pics last August when it hit me that it's days are probably numbered. In the last pic (B&W) I edited out the stupid ISUZU and replaced it with the more era-appropriate GMC Trucks. I don't know if McNamara actually ever sold GMC or not.

Thought I'd share some photos and history here of my latest GP... its an original CA car that moved with the original owners to Alabama in the late 80's. They sold the car in 2003 and it then went to Michigan. I bought it in March from my friend in MI and brought it back to CA. The car's original CA black plates were still with it and after a few months of persistance I was able to get them reissued to the car. It has just over 60K original miles. It was repainted about 15 years ago and still looks pretty good. It has had some options added to make it nicer. One strange thing regarding the PHS invoice is that it does not show power steering, but the original owner said that it had it from new. He also said that he purposely ordered the car without any wheel option or a radio as he wanted to install his own which he did after taking delivery. I really like the Midnight Green/Parchment color combo and its a fun car to drive!

Hey Grant,
Nice score!! I've always liked that midnight green! You are right about the color combo. I can't believe you got the original black plate reissued. BONUS!!!!! Love the car! Enjoy! Ron |

That's almost a twin to mine. I've been debating on a hood tach this helps that decision a lot.

How do you stack those 3 in that 2-car garage?
Boy, the more and more I see hubcaps on these GPs, the more I like them. Don't get me wrong...the rallys look great in a natural way on Pontiacs, but to see regular hubcaps has really started to appeal to me...
