I wanted to let everyone know my inventory on the stripe kits is dwindling. I can't believe I'm saying this, but after this first lot is gone, I may not re-invest in another production run. At least not right away.

Currently, I have 10 white kits left and 14 blue kits left.

Two separate customers may be purchasing up to 3 kits each, but I still don't know the color mix.

Anyway, A BIG thank you to again to all who have purchased these kits.

Update from Memorial Week Sales are pictured below. Just subtract kits shipped this week from the original inventory noted above. Thank you PY Nation. I'm happy so many of the Members here have purchased and are receiving these kits.

One note to everyone who has purchased and will be purchasing a set for future use (Heck, one sale came from a member for his 'yet to be purchased' blue Trans Am ): be sure and store the kit out of the shipping tube, laid flat in a dry cool place with nothing heavy sitting on top of it.

You may want to keep the tube though. I wonder if these kits might have inherent value beyond sticker price on the resale market after the inventory is gone?... Hmmm.

I bought a set today and just wanted to say that the on line site was easy to use and very well thought out, it couldn't of been any simpler to use.

Sweatpants Tim and I finally installed one of your kits on Friday. Came out real nice. In the last three months we have done three cars. The first two kits where from Ralph that I bought years ago. Very happy with your stripe kit. The nose bird is on as straight as we would like but thats our fault. I hope you do more of these because I still have some cars to do it the future.

Guilty as charged.
I bought the set for the blue car I don't own yet...

I also have a set I bought earlier for the 71 white car I do own, but haven't started on yet.
Still waiting for kids to grow up so I have time..

So question.
would you suggest sandwiching the stripes on a cut piece of say 1/2" plywood, then maybe a thinner Masonite type light wood on top?
Then I could maybe hang them up on the wall or in the laid down in the rafters

Norwood, 4birds, Cliffhanger, A Schaub and Weranc55: Thank you very much for the compliments. They are much much appreciated.

klunde, I would think the masonite sandwich is plenty stiff, skip the plywood. Regarding rafters, I would suggest storing in a climate controlled environment, so if the rafters are part of the climate controlled envelope, that would be fine.

Klunde, you may have done pretty good purchasing a kit for a Lucy car you don't own yet, because I am very sorry to report that I have sold my last White Stripe kit. I have just a precious few blue stripes kits left as well. I've turned off the website 'Buy Now' button for the white kits for now, and instead turned it into a link to my email so I can continue to gauge interest. The blue stripe kit 'Buy Now' button is still on.

I made several promises to the hobbyists on these forums and to the owners of '70~'72 TA's, most of which I've kept, including selling individual parts out of kits etc, but one promise I made is that I would not have a waiting list like the one that existed over a year ago by one company (that I was on) prior to this product coming out.

So, it's time to once again check in to see if there are still folks who need or will be needing kits over the next year or so. I would like to see how much interest there is, to possibly run another production lot of kits. I have some other ideas regarding next steps as well, so I'll keep everyone posted on this topic, but meanwhile, feel free to let me know if there is still a need/interest going into 2014.

What ever the next move is for TransAmStripes.net I want to once again say thank you for EVERYONE's support through this project, and thank you for the purchases. Being a GM Restoration Parts license holder and filling this gap in the hobby to produce this awesome product has been a very rewarding experience!

With all that said, here are some pictures a customer sent me just today of his beautiful Cameo White TA with a recently installed Blue Stripe kit!

Have you talked to PY, Ames and other vendors about carrying your stuff? That might be enough to warrant another run - and stick it to another vendor with crummy product...

Purchased a white kit, thanks, which is now safely stored. The only reason I might need a blue kit is if there are issues with my NOS set, the application of which is sometime down the road.

Ive had a few NOS kits on and you usually need two stripes kits to do one car. Better order a set for a blue car.

Greg I have a few more blue cars that are waiting to be restored. You can count on me for 4 kits in the next three to four years.

Love the white car in post #312. That one sits just right.

These are beautiful stripes that are not just for restored cars...:-)

TransAmStripes announcement:

Everyone, We are proud to announce an update on the status of TransAmStripes.net:

First, the good news, we've turned the 'Buy Now' link back on for the white stripes on the www.TransAmStripes.net website.

Yes, that means more good news, a new lot of Blue and White stripe kits have been produced and are currently in inventory ready for purchase. Yay!

Now the really great news: this new production of stripe kits came about as a result of the acquisition of TransAmStripes by Muscle Car Industries. Musclecar Industries has purchased TransAmStripes and going forward will own the brand (including GM Restoration Parts Licensing) and sell these Products. The products are still American Made to the exacting details as before, and by the same ISO9001 Certified graphics company and remain concour quality stripes and letters for '70~'72 Trans Am's.

As many of you know Firebird Central is an authorized Dealer of Muscle Car Industries products.

I am grateful to Shawn and his team for picking up this venture to ensure these high quality products remain available for our hobby. I am also once again grateful for ALL of the support everyone here had in helping with the development in bringing this product to market. I hope the hobby and the cars are in a better way thanks to these great stripe kits.

We'll be at the Trans Am Nationals in Dayton next week with the TransAmStripes display up and with inventory in the Firebird Central vendor spot.

Orders placed this week can be filled at the show so please drop by to pick up your kits or just stop by to and say hello and take a look at the Products on display. We are also excited to see some of the Trans Ams on display at this years show with these stripes installed as these products enter their second year of sales.

Greg & Shawn

Great news, Greg! Congratulations on creating such a great product and also in finding someone to take in on and keep it alive.

Cheers,
Tim.
