I see where this is going...new paint, front valance, .....ditch the mouldings, keep the spoiler....AND keep the door edge guards OFF. Wow, that pic steve posted makes it look like a grandma car! ....maybe it's just those tires....Those door edge guards really break up the nice flow of the paint.
That's my vote, if not already counted Bob.

Pat - of course your vote got counted. Remember, that my wife blames you more than anyone else for the fact I have basically moved into the Hot Rod Garage and that the UPS guy has become a member of our extended family. Last night I told her there was a guy in the Firebirds Wanted section looking for a 1972 Black Formula and she broke out the "Special" pajamas. Hah... Did I mention that I am looking for a poly valance and 2-15" honeycombs? |

Don't drag me into this.
![]() Otherwise I might tell you to ditch the molding and keep the spoiler. But, the purist in me says the exact opposite. ![]() Maybe I should change my name to Charlie Brown.

Well after almost a week on the road I am back home and it's like Christmas in October. Among other things, I got a sweet package from Norwood with some awfully nice ram air parts and a great j-hook spare tire hold down bolt. Almost as good, the custom plate for the Black Car arrived. One of the nice things about WV for a car guy is the lack of competition for cool personalized plates. Here it is - Wild, Wonderful indeed.

Funny, I applied for "455 HO" NJ plate about 2 weeks ago. We'll see if I get it.

In West Virginia you can check availability on the DMV website prior to applying. As I was trying to decide whether to buy the Black Car or not the availability of this plate was the final decision maker. I kept trying to find a way to talk myself out of the purchase. Ultimately, I told myself that if this plate was available then the deal was meant to be. It was and I did. |

the company that handles Texas vanity plates rejected my request and said it was "vulgarity". I had to send in an appeal to the state to get it overturned!

Keep the spoiler, and for god sakes ditch the side mouldings! A perfectly painted black door without the mouldings would accentuate the beautiful lines without clutter. 71-2 gto,s and Firebirds look terrible with side mouldings. GP,s seem to look fine though.

JOHN TA 1?
Whoops that was mine. ![]() What does the state use? Illinois, it had to be letters 1st then a number. Florida, it seems to be anything. MY 455 HO? MY 72 TA?
