Default HELP!Power electric seat back release

Will this option that releases the bucket seat backs out of the locked position work on a GTO without electric power door locks?I was told once that it wouldent work without the electric power door locks but I would think it would and heard from someone else they are activated by the switch in the door jambs that also operates the dome lamp and courtesy lamps which makes more sense to me because you wouldent activate the door locks when entering the car from the outside of the car. Thanks for any info on this.

The electric seat back release is a 1970 option and up, never available on a 1969 nor correct as they had vacuum powered locks in 69 and 70 went to the superior electric locks.

you can do it easily without the door lock option, you need to use a 12v relay that's switched on with a ground signal rather than a 12v signal and just splice the ground wire into the regular door jamb switches. Original harnessing on the seat release option used separate switches that connect 12v to the solenoids when activated where door jamb switches ground for turning the dome lights on. Now, here's the roadblock: 69-72 bucket seats look the same other than the covers from the outside, BUT the seat frames are actually different between 69 and the 70-72...you won't be able to mount the seat release assemblies into a 69 bucket seat.

I found that out the hard way after wasting my time attempting to install this awesomely handy option on my 69 after doing the same to my 71! Obviously they redesigned the seat back frame for that release on the 70 and up seats.
