Ken,the only 61-63 guides plates I ever saw were on the SD 421 heads and they had diff valve spacing.I know that Bruce had some that fit 716 heads but dont think they were anykind of factory plate. He put a set on my 716s maybe 13-14 years ago.Email me a pic if you find them.Tom

Tom: these plates were factory issue for the repair of worn out push rod slots in the heads. They were sold "each" . Each plate accomodated two pushrods--an intake and exhaust. The guide plate was ingenious in that no machining was necessary. The installation procedure was to remove a pair of rockers, drop the plate over the studs and replace the rockers. Done! The pushrod side was slightly long (some thought it was a mistake) and extended over to the valve cover gasket. the gasket held the pushrod side in place and the stud side rode against the underside of the rocker arm. Brilliant !
I just looked in Pete's book and the 9777594 looks similar to the SD but without the hold down hole
