Default 238 years ago today!

On November 10th, 1775 the Continental Congress met at a bar called Tun Tavern in Philadelphia PA. They signed a bill calling for the formation of 2 battalions of Continental Marines. When the Revolutionary War ended the Continental Marines became known as United States Marines.

238 years later Marines from all over the world celebrate November 10th as the birthday of the United States Marine Corps. To all my fellow Marines, Happy Birthday and Semper Fi!

Thanks for posting a quick search and found a little time line and history of a very honorable branch of our military. http://www.acidus.com/Continental_Marines.html

And to all veterans thanks for your service to the USA and the world, did you ever think what the world would be like if not for the US military?
