I know of a 481x that is being converted to nitrous use, they are being told it won't work, guess we will see next season. Quote:

What exactly are you calling a ford "pro-stock" head? The E460 junk or the hemi/DRCE knock off junk that only a couple people have attempted to run? I know of a boss9 headed engine using an ancient AR block like I have that has been faster than any of the pro stock junk in an old chassis with an old f3. The heads and block are '80s tech, the procharger early '00s, runs in the bottom 4s 1/8th mile. C460s have valve train problems and need the chambers softened for nitrous use, the "replacement" head has a tendency for the seats to fall out of them. A460s have been just as fast as any C460 headed motor. One of the best choices available would be the current Blue Thunder Thors, if you have the 10k for pair. |

LOL. Are they the same ones listed on the site? What would the closest cast head be to them? A, C, Thor?

I made a mistake in an earlier post. This head does not have the 4 extra head bolts.
It is possible to do this with the billet head but did not get it on my set. And there was another set sold for an NA application at PRI also. Tony Biscoff saw the head at PRI and he liked it a lot also. Visner said the Pontiac head was a big hit at PRI. And could tell the Pontiac community was a tight group and a lot of people new each other. Pontiac Power! |

OK, so it has gone from a mini 481X back to a Pontiac.
F3 or nitrous the only thing that counts is the total HP that is made. I clearly believe it can make the HP to run those numbers. You can set the bar wherever you what it's your engine and car. ![]() Stan

Stan, no one has told them that Pontiac HP is the same as any other brand HP.
Power adder HP is the same as NA HP. NOS HP is the same as Blower HP. It's all in how you make the HP that tells the story. ![]() PS: In the ET of the car, it only shows what HP it used to make that ET, not the total HP of the engine.

OK, from another thread:
Quote:
Just from them possibly 7.6x - 7.7x seconds in 1/4? On a track probably better with get traction full length.

If you want a rough number, just take Rod's 6.27@228, which was run at 2760 lb, and then change the weight to 3500 lb.
Jack's car is going to FLY. He has eliminated one of the big roadblocks that have plagued nitrous powered Pontiacs. I fully expect the car to run mid-low 7s when sorted out. More power to him! |

I truly think you know better than this. you just really want jack to lose or be wrong. You may get to see him struggle for a bit with a new combo. for a while. but he will figure it out. If he hits it outa the park right outta the gate are you gonna need counseling?

Can you please explain your physics to me. Mine goes like this. 800 HP @ 6500 = 646.4 torque 800 HP @ 9500 = 442.2736842105263 torque What is important is what we can delivery to wheel to accelerate the car. ![]() 9500 / 6500 = 1.461538461538461 1.461538461538461 * 442.2736842105263 = 646.3999999999997 So at 6500 axle RPM they both produce torque of 646.4 ![]() Now if you want to talk about 2 engines producing the same torque but at different RPM you are on to something. ![]() Stan

The problem with calculator racing is you can manipulate the inputs to try and make your point or outcome whatever you want. The parameters were engine rpm not torque at the tire at axle rpm. Using your "brilliant" calculations why would they not have the same torque at 9500 axle rpm? They will NOT perform the same and if you and john think so...get a room at the CV1 notel, where fantasies abound and everyone hates Jack and believes whatever they like is true.

Jeff,
I know nothing about Brandx's car or engine. So I have no bases at all to work from. Lets start with what size is his engine, how much boost is he running and what does his car weigh? My WAG! Post on the numbers posted by John. Using the 3.25 330 foot as the base 60 Foot ET = 1.2195 330 Foot ET = 3.2506 1/8 Mile ET = 4.9363 1/8 Mile MPH = 145.9761 1000 Foot ET = 6.3928 1/4 Mile ET = 7.6246 1/4 Mile MPH = 183.8198 Using the 1.20 60 foot as the base 60 Foot ET = 1.2017 330 Foot ET = 3.2169 1/8 Mile ET = 4.8907 1/8 Mile MPH = 147.0351 1000 Foot ET = 6.3367 1/4 Mile ET = 7.5593 1/4 Mile MPH = 185.1865 Stan

Aaron, on Ben's Malibu we're running two 10lb bottles and change them after 2 passes, but there is enough left for another pass. Jack can run two 20lb bottles, if needed.
Besides, if Jack wins the first two there is no need for a third. Like I said its a pick. Either car has the chance to beat the other on any given day. IMHO |

Mike,
What NHRA Pro Stock has done is shift the torque curve to a higher RPM. With all of your knowledge I am sure you understand what that does. Stan Ps- Keep the BS coming it has been a bad day and I need the comic relief.
