Default 69-72 Grand Prix wanted

Looking for a Grand Prix - preferably a 1971-72, might consider a 1969-70 if the price and condition are right. J, SJ, 350, 400, 428, 455... I'm not too picky.

Need not be perfect, roadworthy, or even complete. Just looking for something relatively clean and straight to make into a driver. Not numbers matching? Blown up motor, junk tranny, screwed up rear end? Hit on some panel that can be unbolted? Interior falling apart? If it's parked for one of those reasons, no problem! If it's parked for several of those reasons... well, I'd still be interested in hearing about it.

What would be a problem? Rust-through, Bondo, rear-end collision, rollover, or other body/frame issues that aren't easily corrected; or anything that's a total basket case. Remember, my goal here is to throw together a somewhat presentable driver. It'll be getting a loving home and regular use, but it'll likely never be treated to a hundred point restoration.

I'd be looking to spend $2K or less - "cash and carry" deal (you get cash, I put it on the trailer, done!). Must have clear title. The ideal candidate would be located within a few hundred miles of Minneapolis.

I'm not in a huge hurry... if I can get it bought and drivable within the next six months, I'd be a happy camper.

If you've got a Prix laying around, needing a good home - or if you know anyone who does - let's talk. I can be reached by phone at (320) 496-6111, or by emailing keith [at] kanabec.net

I have several contacts around here I will check on. Buddy of mine gets several old pontiacs every couple of months at his salvage spot.

Arrow Problem car?

I thought I'd throw my '69 out here. It would be a roller with no motor, trans, A/C, other things missing would be front seats, seatbelts, some trim, front valance and signal lenses. It has had body repair/bondo where the vinyl top trim was removed and in the quarters, trunk lid kind of rough, R/front fender and door creased and the door panels are junk. Decent for a driver... $600.

GpFreak, Your asking $600.00 for the white 69, is that correct? The body looks pretty decent.

Like I noted, she'd be stripped of a powertrain and stated parts, does have decent old school body work that needs a redo. PM me if interested, don't want to traipse through kthelen's thread.

I didn't see this thread before today.
A neighbor came over last week because he knew I was into Pontiacs. He wanted to know if I'd be interested in buying his 72' GP. I told him no,but I'll take a look at it.
Here is what I saw. 72' GP model J. Copper in color. Original engine long gone, but it has a 400 out of an early 70's Catalina in it. TH400 trans,10 bolt posi,he thinks it has 3.73's in it.
Seats and carpet are gone except for drivers seat. Body looked pretty solid, but did have a small hole under where the drivers feet would be.
He was asking $2500,but I know he won't get that. I think he was just throwing a number out in case I was looking for one. It's probably worth 1/2 of that.
If you want me to talk to him,PM me.

I have a 2 to choose from, both 71's

First one is pretty solid, does have a little lower rust, but not a rot box. motor was suposedlly rebuilt, I have no proof of it from the previous owner though, has posi, power windows, tilt, a/c, rallys, pdb, ps, maybe a couple other options. Car has been sitting for 5-8 years, has good title. $1650.

Other one body is pretty solid, has pw, pdb, tilt, a/c, 12 bolt rear, rallys, no motor or trans,I think it has a good crack free dash(been a while since I looked at it) Most of the interior is missing. I don't have a title, just a bill of sale. $1200

Located in North central Iowa.
