Default 72 K10 - how'd I do?

Been looking on craigslist forever to find a decent 55-72 GM 4x4, they are hard to find. Anyway, finally pulled the trigger on this guy, bought it in a small town called Dusty, WA. Not quite as nice as the pics make it look, there is a little rust under the molding on the door and a spot at the bottom of the door. Still, looks to be a pretty rust-free truck.

It's fairly unmodified, seems mostly original but has been converted over to a 396 and painted white. The paint job and bodywork are decent but nothing to jump up and down about. For $4800, I was happy to get a solid, running truck with working 4x4.

Looks good to me also, and at a real good price. Now where is Dusty, WA. I have never heard of it, and can't find it on a map?

Great looking truck for the money - probably worth double that!

Dusty is in Whitman County, just outside of Colfax. The guy was a farmer, second owner that used it as a weekend truck. Not the driest part of the state but pretty close. Said the original owner was a mechanic that did the big block conversion. Not a hotrod engine by any means, appears to be a stockish 396. Probably one of those "I had it laying around" kind of deals.

Aren't these old rides the best? Just so great to hop in that thing and drive to work the past few days. I have a newer Wrangler 4 door that is great for longer trips and such, but there is nothing like classic iron. Nothing at all.

Couldn't touch that truck here in CA for anywhere near that price. You did well, IMO.

Now you can put it to work. Get a snowblower for it and make some good money during the winter months. http://www.snowvac.com/snowvac_01.php

Snow Blowers Info [http://www.WetPluto.com/A-Closer-Loo...er-Parts.html] provides detailed information about electric and truck-mounted snow blowers, snow blower parts, and reviews of best snow blowers.

Very nice!

I'm looking for one over here on the West side. Hard to find anything decent for a lower price.

Good score!

Looks nice. I also think the price was good. Who am I? I 'm thinking about looking for a 73-74 1500 4x4. As we say here 'good-enough for who its for'

Yep long bed. Plan is to leave it outside, drive to work year round, take it hunting, trips to home depot. Basically treat it like I bought a 2003 Silverado. I am a little worried about rust but I think keeping it outside in Spokane is better than most places.

I have a way different attitude with this one than with my gto. I want to use it, drive it, do not want to be afraid to hurt it. The gto gets driven hard sometimes but only in nice weather, this one has already been out in the snow.
